Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old healing art that is the sister science to Yoga. It is based upon the five elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether constituting everything in the Universe including our bodies. Each of our bodies has these elements in different ratios and can be divided into Vata, Pitta, and Kapha (doshas) constitutions. Our daily habits can create an imbalance of the elements. Through slight changes in lifestyle and diet according to Ayurveda, your specific dosha ratio, building digestive fire (Agni) and lowering systemic toxins (Ama); a balance can once again be restored

This eight hour beginner’s course, is held from 10am-12 pm EST on Sundays in June. The basics of Ayurveda that you will learn include:
- the doshas; Vata, Pitta, and Kapha;
- common foods that nourish/ aggravate each dosha,
- simple beneficial herbal teas for each dosha,
- the 5 elements,
- gunas, and
- easy dinacharya (daily health practices)
- keeping the five senses healthy; such as
- tongue scraping,
- gandusha (oil pulling),
- nasya (nasal oil drops), and Pranayama.

Products needed for this course are: 8 oz. organic sesame oil (not toasted!), Rose Water hydrosol, Nasya Oil, and a tongue scraper. Optional products are: ceramic neti pot, organic castor oil. Most of these can be purchased through Muzda Enterprises (ayurvedaoilsandmore.com).
